What began in 2022 with 300 people and a small stage at Foresight Church in Muldersdrift has become the West Rand's largest open-air worship gathering. It was never about building an event. It was about building a platform where Jesus can enter and do what only He can do.

Worship is Groot is an annual Christian gathering with one clear purpose: to bring people together to worship the Creator, fellowship with one another and build His Kingdom. It is hosted by Holy Hits Different NPC.
Our story
It Started in a Car
"This all started as a dream, a vision God showed me in my car one day. I did not know what it meant at first, but it became clear as time passed."
The first Worship is Groot gathering was introduced to the people of Krugersdorp in 2022 at Foresight Church in Muldersdrift — the very first church to become part of this dream. An open-air event, a small stage, a borrowed sound system and about 300 people. We invited the worship teams of different churches to be part of the day, and we worshipped.
In 2023 we moved to another venue, where God showed up in ways that couldn't be explained. People started taking hands with us. A stage was built, basically for free. 850 people showed up. People gave their hearts to the Lord.
In 2024 we hosted our first event at Engedi Manor in Muldersdrift, where over 1,500 people came to worship. In August 2025 we returned — and more than 3,200 people came together in unity. It was our first baptism opportunity. We prayed for one person to surrender. Fourteen made the decision that day.

To create a platform where Jesus can enter and do what only He can do — bringing people together across the West Rand to experience worship, connection and transformation.

A gathering that grows year after year, reaches more people, creates more opportunities for Christian fellowship and worship, and makes a lasting Kingdom impact well beyond a single day.

This Is Not a Show
Not a Concert
The day includes family activities, Christian merchandise vendors and elements that make it welcoming for all ages — but Worship is Groot is not entertainment and not a marketplace. It is a day of worship, prayer, fellowship, community and faith.
Not for Profit
"This is not something to make money off." Holy Hits Different NPC is a non-profit company. Every rand raised goes into making the day possible — sound, screens, safety, sanitation and infrastructure.
Not One Church
Worship teams from different churches share one stage. Denominational lines come down for a day. That unity is the point, and it is the hardest thing to fake.
A word from the founder
"I have always had a heart for worship; there is nothing on this earth that makes me feel so close to God than being in His presence while worshipping. Worship is not just singing, it's a lifestyle. Your everyday living should be able to reflect how you feel about God. Doing this with Him is something I have never imagined in my life. I was at a place where I didn't really feel connected to Him at all, until I asked Him to show me how He wants to use me. This is why we started Worship is Groot — not for me, but for His glory. When and where is Worship is Groot 2026?
Saturday 22 August 2026 at Casalinga, Muldersdrift. Gates open at 08:00 and worship starts at 10:00.
Who organises the event?
Worship is Groot is organised and hosted by Holy Hits Different NPC, a registered non-profit company founded by Elmarie van der Vyver. Holy Hits Different is the holding company for Worship is Groot and all related events.
What is still outstanding for 2026?
None of it, financially — praise God. Sound, LED screens and traffic management were the last three cash costs and all have now been sponsored, so the full R184,000 event budget is covered. What we still need is practical: hygiene and sanitation supplies for the day, and items for roughly 100 volunteer goodie bags.
Can we contribute part of a cost instead of the full amount?
Absolutely. Partial contributions towards any of the outstanding items are very welcome, and are recognised in the same way. Every contribution, large or small, helps.
We can't give money — can we still help?
Yes. We need hygiene and sanitation supplies for thousands of attendees, and items for roughly 100 volunteer goodie bags. If your company supplies any of those products, an in-kind sponsorship is just as valuable to us.
What exposure does our company receive?
Depending on the level and nature of your contribution: recognition across our social media platforms, dedicated thank-you posts, your logo on the LED screens during the event, recognition as a supporting partner of Worship is Groot 2026, and inclusion in relevant event communication and promotional material.
Is this a once-off sponsorship?
We hope not. Worship is Groot grows every year — 300 people in 2022 to over 3,200 in 2025. We are looking for partners who believe in the vision and want to grow with us, not just fund a single day.
